Math 545 - Probability and Statistics I for Secondary Teachers

Credits: 3

Course Description: This course presents the mathematical laws of random phenomena, including discrete and continuous random variables, expectation and variance, and common probability distributions such as the binomial, Poisson, and normal distributions. Topics also include basic ideas and techniques of statistical analysis.

Pre-Requisites: BA/BS degree in Mathematics.

Current Textbook:Probability and Statistics. The Science of Uncertainty, by Michael Evans and Jeffrey Rosenthal, published by W.H. Freeman, 2004. ISBN: 0-7167-4742-1. Check with your instructor to make sure this is the textbook used for your section.
